The 16th Community Radio Station in Bangladesh, Community Radio SagarDwip 99.2, to broadcast Programs Officially

Hatiya, a small island, situated in the mouth of the river Meghna and the coast of Bay of Bengal under Noakhali District. It is known as a disaster-prone Upazila with unprivileged community. The people of the Upazila are living with natural disaster and adverse environment. River erosion, tornado, storm, cyclone make their daily life immeasurable. Lack of education, malnutrition, unemployment, laps and gaps of knowledge flow and insufficient power supply situation deprive the communities from modern facilities. Four Community Radio stations received the highest number of prizes in the Radio Category of the UNICEF Meena Media Awards, 2015

Four community radio stations of the country received 13 awards in the radio category of the Meena Media Award 2015 for their contributions in innovation in media and the protection of child rights in the year 2015. As with every year, UNICEF Bangladesh organized the competition. The winning stations are Community Radio Pollikontha 99.2, Community Radio Chilmari 99.2, Community Radio Jhenuk 99.2 and Community Borendra Radio 99.2 FM. Community radio station under flood water

Floods ravage Assam once again. The Brahmaputra Community Radio Station (BCRS), run by Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research (C-NES) from Dibrugarh’s Maijan Ghat along the mighty Brahmaputra is now under flood water.
